QUESTION: FOR NPHC SORRORITY MEMBERS

Is it frowned upon in the greek community for a PNM to ask for a letter or recommendation from current members of the sorrority she wishes to join? I know most of the board will probably say ask someone else you know, but if you are not legacy and no one within your family is a member of the organization where should you turn?

**also, I know professors tend to be a great source of reccomendations, but outside HBCU's it sometimes difficult to find professors who are NPHC sorrority members.

thank you for all your help ladies in advance.

I don't know how the NHPC works, but I know how at least one NPHC sorority works.

Just the opposite. Given the particular organization, it may not mean a letter from an active of the undergrad chapter but if you don't get to know them and let them know you, you can forget your aspirations of becoming a member.
