Question about rejoining... help
Hey Guys Okay I have a question that I need help with. Last Fall I joined a sorority at the university that I used to go to. About half way through the semester, I got really sick and had to unfortunately withdraw from school, and obviously the sorority as well. I'm going back to school this spring at a different college and want to re-join, but I'm not sure if I will be able to since I dropped the first time. If anyone can let me know if I will be able to re-join or how I would go about doing it, then please respond!
Thanks!:) |
#1 question: Were you intiated?
|
No, I left a few weeks before initiation.

You're free to go through recruitment at your new school. You have no obligation to join the same sorority, nor the privilege of waltzing into the same sorority (though you can of course join through recruitment, but you can't get in automatically because you pledged at your other school). By depledging and transferring, you are eligible to join another chapter at your new school immediately (depending on their requirements, like if you have to have x credits at the new school). It's as if you had never pledged this sorority.

Thank you so much! That cleared up a lot, I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to for some reason.

Doesn't she (if we're talking NPCs here) have to wait a full year after pledging her old sorority before she can pledge another NPC?
|
We talked about this earlier this week--apparently, if you are at a different college, you don't have to wait a full year, that's only if you are at the same campus.
|
The 1-year rule doesn't apply if you transfer.

I have the same question. My friend got a bid and started to pledge for another sorority, but then she didn't like what they were doing so dropped out. My sorority just actually started and we will be recruiting for our 1st pledge class next semester and she wants to rush for it. Will she be able to pledge again? It's not an NPC sorority just a local.

If you're a local, then it is up to you guys to determine those kind of rules. Only NPCs MUST abide by the 1 year rule.
