Each year, the AFA Awards and Recognition Committee identifies outstanding contributions by members/colleagues in ten different categories. The Excellence in Education Award criteria measures the development, execution and impact of innovative educational programming efforts directed towards undergraduate and alumni members. Gamma Phi Beta’s Collegiate Advisor Development Program, the first online training tool to be developed by a Greek organization, was introduced in September of 2006 and is available to more than 500 of the Sorority’s collegiate advisors. In July, the program was named HRH Fellow Award runner-up. Ultimately, Gamma Phi Beta would like its development of the Collegiate Advisor Development Program to serve as a springboard for other online fraternal education initiatives. “We are delighted to have our online advisor training program honored with the 2007 AFA Excellence in Education Award,” said Linda Johnson, Gamma Phi Beta International President. “This program delivers innovative education and support to our collegiate advisors, who play a vital role in ensuring a positive Gamma Phi Beta experience for our collegiate members.” ### About Gamma Phi Beta Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority was founded in 1874 at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY.
