Where are they now?
I was reading another thread and it got me wondering are there any former members of an organization or chapters of an organization that is now inactive or has completely dismantled? If so, how do you feel about greek life now? Do you still love the organization and what do you think happened to make the chapter or org fail. I realize this happens more frequently with locals, but national organizations lose charters and such too and any input is of great interest!

My chapter was closed as of end of Jan 2006. There were many things that led to my chapter being closed, the majority of them I won't discuss with a non-sister. However, I think overall, it was the right thing. I know that we alumnaes were promised that there would be an effort made to try to get us back on campus. However, I don't think I want to see that until Greek Life at the school changes a lot.
With that being said..I still love Greek life and encourage everyone to give it a shot. As for SDT...I love SDT, I love the friendships and connections I've made because of SDT. I am a transfer student to the school that I'm at and chose not to affilate with the chapter up here because it's totally different from my chapter, among other things. Doesn't mean I love SDT any less! |
My chapter too was closed. While I sincerely hope to see my beloved chapter return to my alma mater, the fact is that I am a Gamma Phi Beta. I pledged myself to Gamma Phi Beta- not Gamma Chi. My sisterhood is so much more than the wonderful girls I knew at SWTSU - I have found sisters literally all over the country, and those things which endeared Gamma Phi to me are timeless. They transcend time, place, and even a specific chapter. We are indeed "founded on a rock".

I have very little "love" for the people (NOT Brothers) who lost my house. However I still am in contact with my Brothers both from my Chapter as well as others. |
