Carson Reveals Terminal Lung Cancer

Indianapolis Democrat Has Been On Leave From Congress Since September

INDIANAPOLIS -- Rep. Julia Carson has confirmed she is battling terminal lung cancer, according to a report published on Sunday.

According to the story in the Indianapolis Star, Carson, 69, issued a statement Saturday afternoon revealing the diagnosis.

Carson's office was not immediately available to confirm the story.
