Reese Witherspoon <<sigh>>

There is an auction up on eBay for a photo of Reese Witherspoon; in it, it says she is a member of Gamma Phi Beta.

When I read this, I e-mailed the seller, informing him that Ms Witherspoon was not a member of Gamma Phi Beta and asked him to remove that information:
Quote:

Reese Witherspoon is not a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority; she is not a member of any sorority. Please remove this information from your listing.
This is the reply I just received (spellings and grammatical mistakes are the seller's):
Quote:

We appreciate your information. However, that information was obtained from the IMDB (International Movie Data Base). If it is not correct, then it's a very minor mistake.
Not a big deal to get updet over.

However, Let me make something crystal clear ,you are and NEVER will be in a position to tell us what do or dictate orders. I do not like the way you said it, so... we will NOT remove that information!

IAny problems with that?
Maybe I did not state it as diplomatically as I could have, but in my opinion, his/her reply was quite rude.

Thoughts???

I have to agree that the reply was rude. And we all know that IMDB and Wikipedia are FULLY researched sites that are 100% accurate!

Arrogant eBay sellers. Gotta love 'em. Way to go, Cindy Harris and Leana Lee.

It's likely that the item won't even get a bid because those things are a dime a dozen. Their starting bid's ridiculous for an 8x10 you can get for cheap elsewhere.

Regarding the IMDB info, you can get that information removed by notifying their database managers:

Clicking the 'Update Information' button requires you to register.

At this point, I'm thinking we should just AI her and be done with it!:D

I'd send the information to Megan McDermott at IH.

Crashing.

It was very rude of the Seller. I do a lot on eBay (both buying and selling) and I would appreciate receiving information that is incorrect. For one thing, it helps items sell better when your info is accurate.

I also ofter tell sellers when items are mispelled. I want them to get top dollar too and if something is off by just one letter, it can drop your item from a search. For example, the Ohio State yearbook is called Makio but for some reason people list it as Markio.

Yesterday, someone had an old fraternity pin that they knew nothing about. I could tell from the picture that he was looking at it backward and using the engraving as the fraternity name. He wrote me a very nice note back when I was able to identify it for him.

But by identifying it you also helped any collectors who hadn't noticed it yet since it was not marked correctly. You have no idea how many "helpful" people identify our badges for the seller and they go from no activity to a lot of activity on ebay.

The Gamma Phi Beta email that comes out every month or so had a little story on this and stated that Reese is not a member (amongst so many other celebs). I really wish that was on the public site for IH

You know... I really hate cellphone browsers. My other post went missing and It doesn't stay logged in long enough for me to find that other thread where everyone is constantly saying Reese isn't a gamma phi beta. XD

Anyhow...on the delta Theta chapter's website: -here-, under the "about" section, Reese is still listed as a prominent member. Uh ... -here-, seventh from the top. Lol. If the link didn't work. Sorry.

I hope i didn't break any rules by posting or anything.
But i hope it helps.
^_^

Just so you know... I honestly believed she is a gamma phi beta... That's untill i found this website. XD
