Active?
Sorors SisterGreeks and Greechatters,
I am so please to say that I re-acvtivated my membership yesterday! :) It had been on my heart for a minute, but with a husband that is always out of town, a full time job, teaching a college class, finish the last 9 hours of my masters and thesis, and two kids, I was like not now, then I thoght about how those are all Excuses and you know what those are ;) So I am a so happy to finally be back around my beautiful Sorors, and my new chapter Omicron Tau Omega made me really feel welcome!! It made me think I have been on greekchat for seven years and people probably assumed I was active, was I the only inactive greekchatter? Tell the truth... |
Congrats and welcome home! Which chapter is that? Clearlake? ?????
Anyway, there are inactives on the board... Hopefully, one day, they, too will reactivate! :D |

I'm so happy that you've reactivated! I only reactivated just 4 years ago, and was inactive for 9 years (my LS calls me "Miss Nine") and am determined to remain active. Eight more years and I'll have Silver Star Status! The time definitely flies. . . I had the same excuses as you. After having my daughter, I was out of work for 3 months, so I didn't reactivate; then each year that went by, I kept telling my LS "I'm coming back this year!" After awhile, she quit asking. . .anyway, my 1st meeting back, I felt like a fish out of water, but you sound like you definitely don't have that problem and that's great! Congrats again! |
Congrats Sistergreek,
I know you will be a great asset to your chapter. |
I'm active and have been serving Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for nearly 18 years. Life circumstances have been great for me and somehow, I have found a way to remain active. It was important to me, but I do not have children.

Thanks everybody! I really feel good about it. I was so active undergrad, in fact I was "Neophyte of the Year", when I transferred into the grad chapter in the town where my college was it was such a complete 180! The chapter was alot older, alot more set in thier ways.
When I moved to Houston I just got busy with life getting married, having kids, mortgages, career, school etc. Even though all those things are going on still and I am about to start my doctorate, enough is enough. I can't be at everything but I can be at something starting now. :o |

Eventhough this thread is over a month old I wanted to say congratulations! :):)
Hopefully other Sorors will see this and run back to the fold too! I will be transferring my membership (to graduate chapter) in January but there are 3 chapters here, so I need to pick one ASAP.:) ETA: Transferring due to graduating. |
I'm glad to see Soror Wonderful find a place for herself. I've been continously active for just over seven years, but I'm also a single non-mother so I don't have other things pulling for my time. At my age, the chances of my status changing aren't great, but I will figure it out if it happens.

Wow thanks Sorors, it is nice to be active again, I was really active undergrad and my first two years grad but after we moved to Houston I fell off. Glad to be welcomed back! :D
