Love...???

What do you do when your head and your heart aren't giving you any answers?

DGPhoney 06-14-2001 01:36 AM

hey greek cutie,
this may sound stupid but it always helped me, "Sleep on it" sometimes when you sleep on the situation, you wake up with a clear mind and heart , and it may help you to get the answers you are looking for~
~Hope that helped a little~

DGPhoney's advice is very good, and also--sometimes it helps to talk to some trusted friends...even though they may not say what you want to hear--you should listen anyway. It doesn't mean that you have to take their advice...but sometimes hearing a variety of opinions really helps.

Also, usually either your head or heart (one or the other) WILL give you answers...just stop thinking about it too much. If you just relax, let go, and let whatever come to you...it will come to you http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif. Also, sometimes it comes at the weirdest places (while shopping, eating, etc.)! Good luck!

Newbie, gave some great advice http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif My advice would be to treat yourself and do something you enjoy. Get your mind off of it for awhile and maybe sleep on it like DGphoney suggested. Sometimes you get so locked in to what you want to see that you dont get the big picture. If that makes sense. Friends help alot because they know you well and can offer advice on the situation from the outside. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Try to keep yourself busy.

Thanks Kevin! I thought that this thread was full of good advice (both you and DGPhoney gave great advice!)!

Hope everything goes great for you, GreekCutie http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif.

greek cutie,
i have been in that place so many times and here is what helped me out the most...i spent a long time ignoring my head and following my heart. i ended up deeply hurt. i am not saying that this goes for everyone, but listen to your head. in the beginning it may hurt, but in the end you just may end up much happier, i know that i am!!!

It always helped me to write stuff down---be it on a journal, email to a friend, or actually i would write an essay or short story about my situation...and the answer would suddenly just "pop" out as I write. I also ask trusted friends/sisters/brothers for advice...that's what they're there for! and newbie is right..sometimes the answers just come during weird times--while you're shopping, eating, showering or something. Once this realization just hit me while i was in the middle of practicing a skating routine that I tripped on my toepick and fell. Now THATS called "coming down with a realization".
