Well, I finally did it!
I just dropped (lavaliered) my girlfriend of 2 years! I can't even tell y'all how nervous I was! She's an Alpha Delta Pi here at Arkansas.
|
Congrats brutha! Back in my day that means the brothers would tie you up to the flagpole after meeting, toss everything from the fridge on you, then call the girls sorority house and tell her you stay tied up there till she comes and gets you :D
Good times... |
These guys don't even know what it is! I wish we had some traditions like that. I was expecting something.
|
Congrats bro...I know one of my bros did that to his g/f at our White Rose formal dinner in Vegas....So as soon as we were done with the dinner, we all went out and got him trashed....good times

Wow... I thought we were alone in that one! My favorite phrase of that particular night: "I don't think she's coming!" |
Sorry to crash, but congratulations, and yay for ADPi! =)

if someone wants to find me an old thread on this be my guest...
but when you lavalier a girl, is it pretty much like a pre-proposal? like, youre important enough to wear my letters, maybe youll be my wife? |
On our campus it was a serious girlfriend, but marriage - not really thought up just yet. ;)
|
Here it means that you are engaged to be engaged. It's not something that you can give to more than one girl. For us, marriage has definitely been thought of.
|
At my campus, being "pinned" was more serious than being lavaliered. This was a long time ago, though.

Fawn Liebowitz? Didn't you die in a tragic car accident in early 1962?
|
Fawn, your roommate is hot.

Actually, Kyle - it was a kiln accident
