okay okay, i can't resist this thread...superficial as it is, i'm superficial about clothes.

i'm a whore for fashion and i admit it. that and makeup. when it comes to clothes, i'm completely and totally picky about what i wear. i usually wear either calvin klien or bebe. i have TONS of bebe stuff only because i used to work there and got a 40% discount. **BTW, i read that "sorority slut pants" post about the bebe dresses..cracked me up!** i LOVE shoes as well. steve madden, nine west, via spiga, charles david...it's enough to give me an orgasm.

okay, that's it. enough about fashion...it'll make me want to shop...

love and shopping,

etienne

heather, i totally have to agree w/ you about old navy...it's definitely one of my fave stores. i could spend all day in there(they have the cutest clothes ever!!!) i'm also a big fan of aeropostale. and, we can't forget about bath and body works(i know it's not a clothing store, but i don't know what i would do w/ out it: juniper breeze body splash all the way!!!!)

Honeybee 08-06-2000 04:42 PM

ok, since we're on the topic of clothes i have a question. i want to go out and but some black pants(i usually get them from express cuz i absolutely love those..they are the stretchy, comfy kind!!!)anyway, i still don't have a job and i don't have an extra $50 laying around to buy them, so i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get some really cute black pants(that arent that expensive) thanks!!!

etienneSAI 08-06-2000 04:46 PM

honeybee,

i know for a fact that bebe has at least 15 different varieties of the "sorority pant" which is exactly what you described. however, they'll run you about 88.00-125.00 depending on the style you get. i have a couple really cute pairs that i got from express, and some that i got from guess?. if you hit the macy's semi-annual/back to school sale, you can usually find cute pants at a pretty decent price.

preppie, yeah, the 40% discount at bebe was pretty fly.

Honeybee, I just bought a pair of black pants at Old Navy that cost only $32. They looked really good and WILL NOT fade when you wash them (I really hate that).

I guess my fave stores are Old Navy & GAP, but also JCrew, Bloomies, and Saks http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Beleive it or not, Kohl's has about 3 zillion different kinds of those black "sorority girl" pants on sale for about $20. It doesn't get any better than that! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

As I said in another post, the highest fashion standard we have in my area is the junior's section at Walmart, so I've got a question for you guys....have you ever tried buying clothes on line from stores like the Gap, etc.? If so, do they have a return policy or something if they don't fit? We seriously don't have any clothes stores around for about 50-60 miles.

Online shopping is awesome I love www.bebe.com, and www.jcrew.com. Good luck!

REALLY old thread, but Online Shopping? OH YEAH!

gap.com, banannarepublic.com, girlshop.com, rampage.com, xoxo.com, delias.com, styleclick.com, victoriassecret.com, anthropologie.com... so many more!!!

returns are EASY. often if you take it to the store, they'll take it back for you, eliminating the wait for your card to be credited when you mail it back.

with and Gap Inc store (gap, old navy, banana) just take your online purchase to the nearest one and you can return, exchange, price adjust.. whatever! i've worked at gap for the pas 2 years... i only sta for the 30% discount at gap and banana and 20% off at old navy.. its great :-)

Okay, I know this is old but I've got to post anyway.

I'm really bad about labels on clothes...I almost never buy anything unless it's name brand. My absolute favorite is BCBG (luckily there's an outlet near my house so I rarely have to pay full price). I also have a lot of Gap because it's such good quality classic stuff. Bebe is good, although sometimes too much for me. Express and Esprit are good for less expensive stuff but recently the Limited has had cuter clothes. Ralph Lauren's new stuff is very cool too. Steve Madden has the best shoes, or Esprit if you don't want to pay as much. Or Target if you want to pay even less.

I'm also a HUGE bargain shopper and it really helps when the biggest outlet mall on the east coast (Potomac Mills) is 30 minutes from your house.

Ann Taylor, Earl Jeans, Trina Turk, Michael Stars, Kate Spade, J Crew, La Perla, Lauren Ralph Lauren.........and the occasional Targ'et (pronounced Taaaarrrjaaaay http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif) fix!

MIDWESTDIVA 03-13-2001 11:28 AM

My favorite places to shop are consignment shops. I dress "up" most of the time. My favorite designers are Tahari, Kasper, Mark Shale, Dana Buchman, Ann Taylor, Anne Klein and Breeches.

My favorite shoes are Via Spiga, Donald J. Pliner and Enzo Angiolini.
