If you've ever wondered what would happen if women ruled the world, you may want to visit Auburn, a city of 7,300 about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta.

Elections this week resulted in an all-female city council. The new mayor is a woman, too, having squeaked into office by six votes.

Wow. Six votes. That really drives home the reality of "every vote counts"!

When all recounts were over and done with in Washington's 2004 Governor's election, Christine Gregoire was declared the winner by just 129 votes...and that's a STATE election, not just local. THAT was really an example of how every vote counts...and counts and counts. :)

Washington embraces female candidates, too...our governor and both senators are women.
