Inspiration Week ideas
 

Hi Kappas!

My name is Kristen, and I'm the Marshal for the Eta Mu chapter (the baby chapter!) at UC Santa Cruz. We've only had one Inspiration Week and Initiation and that was our own! I'm in charge of I-week events (coming up soon), and I still need an activity for one of the days. I want it to be something active, but we have to be inside. Last year, our (now) Chapter Consultant had a "beauty pageant" for us on that day, complete with talent portions, designing an outfit, and Q&A sessions. I want to do something like that without being repetitive and totally stealing her idea. Any suggestions?

Hey there Kristen! I just started a thread (A Marshal's Request) that some girls have posted ideas on. I am the Marshal at Epsilon Pi (UC Riverside) and have done one Initiation Week before. Last year, we did a karaoke night which was a lot of fun. Another thing we like to do is a Kore Group Cultural Dinner. Each Kore Group brings a different type of food and it is a potluck so it is inexpensive. I hope these help a little, I know our chapter enjoys them. If you need any help, I can try to lend a hand!

Thanks for your suggestions Monique. Those activities are similar to other things we're doing/have done that aren't a part of I-week. I want to do something that involves the actives and NMs. Some kind of competition? Maybe I could get people to change words to popular songs so it has a Kappa theme. Hmmm...

I think that would be a ton of fun! You sound like you are going to do a great job!

As far as a competition goes, maybe a talent show called "Kappa Idol" or "Key Search" would be fun.

We did Kappa Idol, and it was so much fun! I-week was awesome. :-)
