Legacy moms at inititation
Hi. Does anyone know if chapters ever still invite the mom/sister/grandmother of a legacy to attend initiation? We used to do that at Gamma chapter when I was in college. It was a surprise to t he new member. Next week my daughter will be initiated into a different chapter. I haven't heard anything. I thought about calling the chapter advisor, but I don't want to force myself into their ceremony or embarrass my daughter by being the only one there.

The chapter may not deal with enough legacies to know how to handle it - or the officer who should have called may not know to. At any rate, this is too important to not be a little pushy. I'd call the chapter advisor and ask about initiation. It would be a great surprise for your daughter, and I can't imagine the actives wouldn't be really touched to have a mother help initiate her daughter. What a fabulous example of how Gamma Phi is for a lifetime! Congratulations!

I think you should call the chapter advisor or even the chapter president to see about this - I bet your daughter would love to have you there!
