Do you believe in Mythological Creatures or 'unseen' forces?

I'm not talking religious unseen forces . . . but 'things' . . . like aliens for example? How about faeries (fairies) or big foot?

mgdzkm433 06-08-2001 01:57 PM

That is definatly a interesting theory. Although I think 'time travel' is something that could be (is) possible, I think we're killing our planet too much now that we won't be alive in the future . . . but of course, I could be wrong.

Nah, but I think the gov't is powerful than we ever can think! And, certain societies, i.e. Skulls and Bones.

I'm going to share an interesting theory that my friend has about alien sightings.

She seems to believe that maybe the alien sightings are actually (stay with me here) evolved humans that have travelled back in time to see how we live(d). I thought that that was really interesting.

The only "thing" I really believe in is the Loch Ness Monster... there are so many practical possibilites (from it being a giant eel to the offspring of dinosaurs).

There are forces I believe in, though. Like the effects of a full moon. I used to think that was just superstition... then I waited tables & it is uncanny how much crazy people are in-sync with the moon!

For the most part, though, I'm pretty much a realist. Can I see/hear/touch/feel/taste it?

I don't know what to believe really. I find it hard to believe that we are the only ones in the Universe living but then again I don't know. I think there are certain unexplained things that have happened like crop circles and area 54. I'm not sure what to make of abductions though. I'm a fairly religious person so I don't believe God would create something that would harm us, yet then again when it comes to science, religion is often not an excuse for the unexplained.
Other than that I don't believe in big foot or the lochness monster or things like that. I find it hard that we can track so many different species and yet cannot find things like those described above...at least on our planet.
I do believe in unseen forces because I believe in God. And I do believe in Angels too. I know that's a whole different topic but I just sometimes feel like special people that I've had in my life that are now dead, are looking over me.

Do any of you folks believe in Tarot Cards or any other medium for foretelling the future? I don't have much experience with that sort of thing but I find it absolutely fascinating!

when I was young i totally believed that unicorns were real...but now i still believe in the Loch Ness monster (all those sightings man!)...and i do believe in aliens...coz it would be truly ignorant of us to think that we are alone in this universe. ..and of course i believe in ghosts or spirits of dead relatives coming back to visit and such.

No forgiveness necessary - that just cracks me up! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

I went to Scotland several years ago -- I am so totally believing the Loch Ness Monster theories. The only thing, and you guys know how I am about loving all kinds of critters, I am surprised that they just haven't created a big shop-vac and drained the whole thing! The money involved in all the searches and stuff is just incredible. And - my family always lucks out it seems - the guy that is the head researcher for all that (or was back in 1990) was there, and we got to talk to him for the longest - he was very sincere in his beliefs (which I think helped me be so convinced that Nessie exists). I would love to go back, though, now that I'm an adult and see all the evidence again.

Yep, I believe in the tarot. I read them.

I also believe in faeries and elves, I believe in aliens (like someone else said, the possiblities are endless in an endless universe). The Loch Ness--possible, Big Foot--I have trouble believing, but possible of course--so I don't exactly NOT believe.

Depending on the activities of the previous evening, I sometimes wake up and think that I am Big Foot. Then I usually go back to sleep.

Living in the land of the Ogopogo and the Sasquatch I do sort of believe in these two creatures and am always on the lookout on my camping excursions into the BC Forest or Lake Okanagan

LMAO!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

BTW....Mikki, I bought a set of Tarot cards because I am fascinated with them! Is there a guide you could recommend so that I can learn the rudiments of reading them?

Thanks!
Tracy
