Just got Established!
Okay. I am extremely excited after about a 1/2 semester of work. Alpha Xi Fraternity is now recognized as an official organization on my campus. I just wanted to share the good news! So the next step is to get the first new member class. :D and I have had about 6 other people who already want to be a Xi.
Quick Status: Name: Alpha Xi Mascot: Phoenix Jewel: Garnett Colors: Red and Ash Gray Symbols: Key, Tear Drop, Star, Flame Campus: Univ. of Missouri-Kansas City # of Founding Fathers and Mothers: 7 Values: Unity and Service exemplifying excellence in friendship, community, university, fraternity and self. What makes us different: Alpha Xi is co-ed. Why? Why should someone be excluded from a fraternity or sorority based on gender. Xi promotes true unity and this is achieved by combining the sexes. Yea!!!!!!!:D |
Congratulations. Wish you the best.

Hi there!
I am just genuinely curious, so please don't take my comments as being overly critical. According to my fraternity's website, www.apo.org, there is an active chapter of Alpha Phi Omega there. As I'm sure you know, APO's cardinal principles are Leadership, Friendship, and Service. Our four fields of service are Service to the College/University, Service to the Community, Service to the Nation, and Service to the Fraternity. APO is also coed. Though I can see that what makes your fraternity different is that is is local, small, and has unique symbols and traditions, I am curious as to the fundamentals. If I were a first semester freshman, why would I choose Alpha Xi when another organization exists with similar principles? |

And different types of people will make the organizations different too. When going greek whether service, socail, professional or religion based. You go with the organization that you connect with the most. Which usually is the people in the organization. I am not saying that the APO on my campus is horrible or anything. It is i just did not personally connect with the people i came in contact with. I hope I answered your questions. And please dont interpet it as me being mean/rude. I can often me misread... And i don't mind the curiosity, I love questions. |

it's actually AX, not X, which would be Alpha Chi... unless i'm missing something....
ok the xi symbol isn't coming up when I post.... but if you use the symbol font, and use the capital letter X, it produces the symbol... and i can't remember how to do the tags to get it right.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xi |
Congrats on this important milestone for you! Wishing you more future success! :)
