There are several threads on speech issues in the BGLO forums. One that comes immediately to mind is in the Alpha Phi Alpha room. I've also seen similar threads in the AKA and Sigma Gamma Rho rooms.
I suggest you do a search.

Thank you Steeltrap, I went to the AKA room, and it's more popular than I thought! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
I forgot about the individual GLO rooms.

Ebonics: Thumbs up or down

On a more serious note, this issue is really bothering me. To my fellow GCer's, especially the black ones. Is the use of ebonics holding black people back? Or, are they "selling out" if they speak standard english?

My opinion is that bp should have the right to speak how they want to when they are around each other, but should talk standard english in formal settings.

No problem. The Alpha Phi Alpha thread, "Uncle tom fad" and the SGR room, "Talkin' White," are good ones.
