LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Bobby Brown ... country superstar?

The R&B singer is one of several celebrities set to compete in a new CMT series designed to give one of them a chance to break out as the next big country music star.

"Gone Country," a six-episode series premiering in January, will feature John Rich of the country duo Big & Rich guiding seven celebrities through the music industry.

Along with Brown, the participants include Carnie Wilson, formerly of Wilson Phillips; Dee Snider of Twisted Sister; "American Idol" finalist Diana DeGarmo; Julio Iglesias Jr.; Maureen McCormick ("The Brady Bunch"); and R&B artist Sisqo.

So this is the CMT equivalent of MTV's rapper show.

No I was referring to Carnie Wilson and Maureen McCormick for the CFC part plus Bobby and Sisqo as the contestants.

Diana Degarmo is totally gonna win this show....

As for Bobby and Sisqo they need to sit down

My little (a huge BB fan) still hasn't recovered from Jon Bon Jovi going all "country" on his latest album. This may put her over the edge. :eek:

DAYUM, I heard this the other day on Patti's mid-day 411 about Bobby and Sisquo going country...all I can say it's apparent that they both need some loot...hey I'm saying...he he he

SMH but at the same time I want to see how this turns out! LOL

They both need to sit down! I hope Siquo's hair is a normal color -- he should have grown up by now. :rolleyes:

I'm just trying to picture "The Thong Song" peformed on a pedal steel guitar.
