2008 Elections

Here is a reminder that we are in an election year! All members of Alpha Gamma Delta who are in good standing are invited to submit recommendations for the ballot for International Council members. The information and instructions are on the home page of the Member Services section of the Fraternity website. Deadline for submitting recommendations is December 10.

We all need to exercise our right to submit recommendations for fresh leadership in the Fraternity. It's always good to have a choice between two or more candidates, and the only way people can be placed on the ballot is by member/chapter recommendation.

If you have any questions about the process, please ask them!

Here here! Besides, I'm on the committee, make me do some work! Feedback I've heard from past Election Committee members were that they were disapointed that there were so few nominations. So yes, nominate, nominate, nominate. And discuss with your sisters who you are nominating because there has to be two nominations for someone to make it on the ballot. Several people could all be thinking "Sister Suzy would be a great addition to IC" but at least two people have to nominate her.

Since the new IC will be presented at Convention, I truly think that at least an hour of time needs to be used for IC to meet with CAs.

Congratulations for the nomination Get-on-the-bus-Mama! I can't think of a more positive influence for this position!

AGDee 02-13-2008 05:09 PM

And I'm betting she's gonna win, too!

Seriously, if you're eligible to vote, be sure to vote!

This is a random question, but is there a rule on how many terms you can serve in the same position?

AGDLynn 02-13-2008 10:23 PM

The Elections Manual is on the Member Services website.

GtownGirl98 02-15-2008 09:23 PM

I am assuming that if a position is eligible for voting then either an absentee ballot will be sent or proxy's will be allowed? I'm not meaning in the VP's but with any "topics up for change"?

AGDLynn 02-15-2008 11:17 PM

I sent you a pm hoping that I answered your questions.
