2 beautiful badges on ebay

 I checked ebay this morning and there was no one but two of our beautiful badges on ebay, one is a plain badge and has 18 bids on it so hopefully those are all thetas but the other one is one surrounded by pearls and diamonds and has no bids on it. I cannot afford to bid on either one but I definately think they should be in the hands of thetas.

And another one...

One of the ladies in my Alum chapter who used to be a College District President said to let HQ know. Apparently they buy them and then sell them back to other Thetas.

After I gave my pin to my daughter at her initiation this fall, the fact that I didn't have a pin any longer really bugged me. Mine was the style with the pearls, but I couldn't justify spending $200+ for a new one. I kept watching E-bay and bid on several badges in Nov. and Dec. Just before Xmas, I WON! My new one doesn't have any engraving on the back, but was supposedly purchased at an estate auction very close to where I live (Chicago area.) It is a plain badge, but I was so excited to get it for just $26. :D So, hopefully some of these Theta badges are being scooped up by people who really will treasure them as much as the original owners did.

Looks like at least one of them has been bid on by a Theta at least! Still doesn't thrill me.

I was browsing Ebay again, and found another one

This one is apparently from 1925, too.

Put another on the list, this one from '49:

I looked up the name that is engraved on this one on inCircle and found a match to the name and year. I sent the woman a message on the off chance that the bagde had been lost or stolen and she wanted it back.

It's pretty rare that a stolen/lost badge comes up from a living member. I've been tracking for a while, and amongst all the greek groups it doesn't happen more than once every few years.

I would wager that 1949 badge belongs to someone who has passed away, but HQ never received the info to update her membership record. :(

let us know if you hear from her!

There is actually a badge (plain one) on their now where the seller indicates that she "somehow wound up with 2" so she is selling one of them. Makes me think she is a Theta.

On another note... On Sunday I won the gorgeous badge with the pearls that was from 1925! We have an event on Sunday and I hope that it is here by then.
