Lambda Chi Crest on ebay
hey all Lambda Chi brothers, I have put this up for sale on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=270175085372 Im hoping some of you know what it is or how much its worth? I found it at a garage sale and thought id throw it up on ebay to see if anyone who values it more than me would like to purchase it! thanks for any info |
Wow. From looking at your post and eBay ad...you're pretty greedy and rude. Especially for someone who's trying to get money from people.
|
how so? I buy and sell metal all the time, its a great side business... I found this at a garage sale and could have melted this thing down and gone on my way but thought maybe someone in Lambda Chi Alpha would have more value in it than I do...so I want to make a few dollars, im sorry, but its history of a fraternity and I think someone would like it more than i do
|
i wonder if this is the crest that used to be out in front of the Ball State chapter house. from what i remember it was metal and about that size. Cincinnati is a relatively close to Muncie so it's not without reason to believe that this may be it.
can anyone confirm or deny this hunch? |
thast very interesting, i may call up there, I currently do not live in Cincinnati, Im a stationed at FT. Brag and picked this up near louisville..you said, used to be? Is that chapter house no longer there?...In all respects if i can find the true owner i would sell it back to them for what i paid for it
|
well the chapter was closed down in 2004(5?) and the house was tore down last year.
i'm from the area around BSU and had several friends who were brothers at that chapter. i'm currently bidding as tdowns12 if anyone was planning to bid to keep it out of a non-brother's hands |
Le996 thank you for the information, can you explain to me what it is?
well I called BSU and they were anything but helpful and explained that the chapter house was fore-closed by ball state and that all materials had been removed and the property was considered owned/operated by ball state and gave me a number to contact if interested in purchasing the land |
the emblems in the metal are our fraternities coat of arms, perhaps the most inspiring of all the emblems we keep, most chapters like to keep a representation of this coat of arms somewhere where the brothers can reflect upon it easily, my chapter, for instance keep an engraving of them in our foyer.
the ball state chapter had a coat of arms in the sidewalk leading up to their front door. obviously, when the property was no longer associated with our fraternity they went to lengths to take all related material with them. even if your coat of arms is not from ball state, it will find a loving home at my chapter's house. |
thanks for the info! best of luck bidding, also if you do win I can have it shipped from cincinnati or NC which ever is closer to your location
|
Be patient, ebay seller, you will have additional interest.
|
i hope so nutbrn hair....the military doesnt exactly pay well
|
FYI eBay seller,
It is illegal to charge a 3% surcharge to people buying with credit card. It is also against eBay policy to state in your listing that buyers must pay a surcharge to use Paypal or a credit card. Just letting you know. If someone reported your auction it would be pulled for that. Otherwise- good luck. That is one nice looking crest and I hope it goes to a LXA active chapter. |
thanks ee-bo
ill take that off, i didnt know! |
As much as I like it . . .
As much as I like it, I won't bid on this. The Fez was enough. BTW, I'll be in Indy in November and I will check on the care and feeding thereof.
|
Yes that is me bidding on it!:)
If I win it, it will go to the New LX Z house that I have donated many C of A to and have more to do so! I would like it to be known as the House of C of A's! One will have a stipulation is the one I got painted by Brothers from Texas Wesleyn which was closed. It is in custody for the time being until it is re-opened. |
