Pumpkin Ravioli

Does anyone know if you can buy pumpkin ravioli readymade or if you have to make it yourself?

Not sure if this answers your question, but here is a link to a place that makes them and ships them frozen: http://www.shop.com/Gourmet_Pasta_Ch...26619-p!.shtml

Do you have a Whole Foods near you, or maybe one of those gourmet (i.e. overpriced) pasta shops? It sounds like something that they might carry.

Check with the Circleville (Ohio) Pumpkin Show. It's a yearly event that will be held within the next couple of weeks.

They have Pumpkin everything.

It's almost disgusting.

what is a pumpkin ravioli?

carnation 10-07-2007 11:00 AM

I'm assuming it's ravioli filled with pumpkin instead of meat, although one of the kids suggested that maybe the pasta had pumpkin incorporated into it too. I read about it in a magazine that had suggestions for Halloween menus. I'm gonna find that stuff! Thanks for the suggestions, guys! :)

I can get it at the big chain store here in Texas--and its really good. It's their brand so I assume that it can be found under other store brands too. I bet its out there, you just have to look.

Do you get it in the canned pasta section?

AlphaFrog 10-07-2007 01:59 PM

So do you eat it with a tomato/marinara sauce??

At the very base, pumpkin and tomato sauce have the same sort of flavor and texture...I can't imagine that being good...waaay too much.

You'd probably find it in the refrigerated fresh/gormet pasta section.

I've seen it paired with a Hazelnut Cream Sauce.

Or you could go this route-Cheese ravioli with pumpkin sauce:

Yes I got it in the frozen pasta section. And I just paired it with a little butter and it was fab, although the lady in the story said something about putting it with a little oil and garlic sauce, with cheese on top.

Is this really still an "exotic" item? My Target has it in frozen foods, as do all the grocery stores.

I've had it with a butter sauce and seen it served with cream sauce but I don't like cream sauce so I never eat it with that. :p
