New chapter needs ideas!
I'm a Kappa at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio and we have only been around for about 6 years. I was wondering if you lovely ladies could give us information on traditions that other schools do that we could incorporate. We do not do a candle passing ceremony when a sister gets engaged nor do the guys do serenades. We all wish we could start traditions, however we don't know how, nor do we know where to go to get information for it. We do not have a house on campus either, they are not allowed. Any suggestions on how to get started would be very much appreciated!!

I think you should just make it a point to start a new tradition every month. That is, over the remainder of the school year, you introduce something new based on what you've learned from other chapters, etc.
Divide up the girls into the months of the year you are all together and each group takes a month and organizes the newest tradition, then that group is responsible for keeping up that tradition during the rest of their time in school. HQ is a *great* resources, as is your local alumnae association--tap into them. Good luck! |
