Address list contact at Indy

Who is the alumni address guru now at HQ? I obtained a list perhaps 8 months ago but discovered a large number (20%) or more of bad addresses. I dutifully sent them in and I now find myself needing to send out a quick set of postcards. Not wanting to have a 20% fallout rate I'd like to get a copy of that scrubbed list.

Who da man?

Alumni relations

I completed a similar task a couple weeks ago. The man you want is:

Josh Lodolo
Director of Alumni Relations

Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity
8741 Founders Rd.
Indianapolis, IN 46268
(o) 317-803-7360
(f) 317-875-3828

Josh is great to work with, but John, the problem is as always:

If the Alumni do not upgrade with IHQ, then it is going to be in error.:(

I do not imagine he has a list of bad addys for you. They are only updated when they are reported or they do not have a clue!

And therein lies the rub: Most of the updates, perhaps 90% or so, came from the mailed out, hard copy, Cross & Crescent. Without that nudge few folks submit a change of address card. Having a 25% return rate makes a hard copy mailing an expensive proposition for a chapter which is sending stuff out at 1st class rates (vs. magazine rates).

Now how to translate Excel to labels

I received the list from Josh Lodolo in less than a day! Great job Josh - I appreciate it!!

Now I have to translate and transpose the Excel spreadsheet into a label friendly format. Any ideas, anyone?

CSV files

Not being a mailing label sort of guy I avoided CSV files until now. HOWEVER, once I started exploring, I determined that I could export the information in Excel to my STAMPS.COM software as a CSV file. About 15 minutes of cleanup and then I was busy printing the mailing side of the card, with addresses AND postage printed thereon. :)
