Delta Gamma @ USF
One of my friends who goes to USF joined a facebook group called "showing support for Delta Gamma." The group description doesn't say what it's for, but from the tone of the wall posts, it appears that one of their members recently passed away. Does anyone know anything about this?

I was about to post a thread on this. I attended a candlelight vigil in Greek Village last night with about 400 other greeks in attendance. There were many tears. My heart goes out to Delta Gamma..I couldnt imagine losing a sister. It was reported late this morning that she has passed away.

That is so sad....I'll be praying for her family, friends, and sorority sisters.

How sad this is to hear.
It is never easy to lose a fellow Brother/Sister. My condolences to her family, sisters and the Greek World as well. Another light has gone out in our world. |
Delta Gamma in our prayers
I'm glad the Greek community has come out to support Delta Gamma. There is nothing worse than losing a sister - especially one who was so young . . . hope her sisters find a way to keep her memory alive.

Please accept my sympathy on the passing of such a lovely sister. May her family and friends find comfort in seeing an outpouring of love for her at the candlelight vigil.
|
Please accept my condolences :(

I had read this morning in the local paper that there was a Delta Gamma sister with bacterial meningitis at USF.
But since the internet was down at work in the later hours, I had not read the outcome. My sympathies and condolences go to all Delta Gamma sisters and new members in here. I am a USF alumna myself, so you bet it touched me. |
My condolonces to Delta Gamma and the USF community. :( USD lost a student to bacterial meningitis this spring. Her twin sister has started a philanthropy, Project Janell, to fund meningitis research and to promote organ donation. I believe the site is projectjanell.org

GET IMMUNIZED!
Please...if you know any college students...encourage them to get immunized! This disease strikes college age students and other young adults who are in close quarters. Many colleges have begun to require immunizations against bacterial meningitis because of its high fatality rate. With the immunization, more than 80% of cases can be prevented. Even if this disease does not kill its victims, it will maim them, causing loss of limb in many cases. It's a scary disease that can be prevented. I know this poor girl's parents wish they'd known ahead of time...it's a shame how few people know about this! My heart goes out to them for their loss.

How horrible, I know a recent DG alum of USF. What a tragedy.
