Pres. Bush--Mandela is still alive!
So, I didn't see a topic on this already.
But I recently saw a press conference with President Bush where he was defending his "Iraqi Policy." During this speech he tried to allude to the fact that it would be hard for a leader to unify Iraq, by speaking about Nelson Mandela. But of course in Pres. Bush fashion he said something completely incorrect. President Bush said ""I heard somebody say, Where's Mandela?' Well, Mandela's dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas." Well Mandela's still alive President Bush! |

Isn't this being taken out of context? Didn't he mean, where is a Mandela to unify the Iraqi people? And basically there isn't one. He's dead because Hussein killed all the Mandelas.

and References to his death -- Mandela is now 89 and increasingly frail -- are seen as insensitive in South Africa. "Rumors of my death have been sorely exaggerated..." LOL |

GTH!!!
Where am I going and why am I in this basket?

I think it's taken out of context. Bush, the babbling idiot that he is, meant in a symbolic term that a Mandela version of Iraq was killed by Saddam. Not that Nelson Mandela is really dead.

BUT, many people did believe Mandela was dead based on Bush's comment. Whoever writes or looks over his speeches should have had it worded differently. It doesn't sound right when he says "Mandela's dead." |
