RIP Founding Member Marvyn Glover Ruppert

Family-Placed Death Notice Marvyn Glover Ruppert, 75 of Atlanta and formerly of Cumming passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007. Marvyn is a member of Skyland Methodist Church in Atlanta and was a member of Midway Methodist Church in Cumming for four decades. She was co-founder and charter member of Gamma Sigma Sigma, a college service sorority, and enjoyed being the first member to have a granddaughter join the sorority. She was active in the Red Cross, Cumming Chorale, and Forsyth County Little Theater. She is survived by her loving husband William F. Ruppert Sr.; sons, Thomas R. Glover Jr. and wife Wanda of Cumming, Lawrence L. Glover and wife, Doretta of Clarkesville, TN, and John R. Glover and wife, Laura of Dothan, AL; daughter Deborah G Botteicher and husband Glenn of Cumming; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon September 23, 2007 at Two o'clock at Skyland Methodist Church 1850 Skyland Terrace Atlanta, GA 30319. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Skyland Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by H.M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd. I had the honor of knowing this woman and she indeed was an inspiration to every Gamma Sig. I am glad I got to see her one last time at our last Convention, who would have known that would have been the last time. :(
Instead of being sad I am rejoicing at her life and having the courage to found our organization! As Gamma Sigs let's remember the legacy of service she left behind for us to continue!
