ladies: makeup removal

Hey all! I was curious for everyones methods of taking off their makeup and washing their face. I do the following:
1. ponds cold cream to take off my makeup
2. phisoderm acne wash to keep breakouts at bay
3. and a toner of some sort for afterwards

Clearsil's Stay Clear - love that stuff! Followed by a little Cetaphil to get the eye makeup off.

CRMSNTiDEGRL717 05-15-2001 06:53 PM

ive never tried cetaphil, but ive heard lots about it. does it take eye makeup off well?? the main reason i use cold cream is b/c it takes eyestuff off so well, but it leaves my face oily feeling. so how does it work?

I use:

1)St Ives Apricot Scrub to remove makeup
2)Oil of Olay toner
3)Revlon or Almay eye make-up remover
4)mosturize with Clinique's differently hydrating lotion (think that's the name - too lazy to run up to my bathroom and check http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif)

2. Prescriptives Vibrant Facial Scrub
3. Prescriptives All Clean Fresh Foaming
Cleanser
4. Prescriptives All You Need Moisturizer
for Normal/Oily skin
5. Prescriptives Uplift Firming Eye Cream

I alternate cleansers...

Cetaphil N/O (yeah, it's good stuff!)
or
Neutrogena Foaming
or
Clean n Clear (the one with the microscrubbers)

Before washing my face, I take off my eyeliner or mascara with Nivea's eye makeup remover.

I don't tone or do anythign else to my face after that, b/c I am a firm believer that using more products only aggravates my skin. My skin looks its best when I don't use too many products or touch it constantly. Drinking lots of H2O and eating a balanced diet helps a lot, too.

I use Nutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash, followed by their oil-controlling astringent.

In the mornings, I use Almay's Milk moisturizer with sunscreen.

I figure I should be good to my skin now and be sure to wear lots of sunscreen to keep it looking young http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Doesn't soap and water still work?? (sorry to sound plaintive)

Hey Amycat!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I have nearly the same routine!!! I usually use a cetaphil moisturizer though. Also, I use the Acne Solution Night Treatment gel, at night, instead of a moisturizer. It keeps me from breaking out. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/redface.gif

Hey Clinique Users...

FYI http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif They're not toners. They're actually liquid exfoliators. So, make sure to use them on a completely cleansed skin so it can do it's job.

i like the make-up remover from bath and body works, its really good. I also use the oxy pads they are good also

dzrose93 05-17-2001 10:33 AM

I use Purpose soap from Johnson & Johnson. My dermatologist recommended it when I was in high school, and I've used it ever since. Best thing about it is that you can buy it in the grocery store and it's only about $3 for a bar that lasts months! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I also use Clinique's eye makeup remover if I wear eyeshadow (which is rare).

Local sororities---- have u ever tried neutrogena's hair line. ive been wanting to try it, but im scared to stray from my routine http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

KillarneyRose 05-19-2001 07:18 PM

Hey CRIMSONTiDEGIRL, I've tried the Neutrogena Clean balancing shampoo for normal hair and the replenishing conditioner for dry, damaged hair. They work really well, especially the conditioner.

Shopgirl-- Could you tell me a little more about the Clinique liquid exfoliator you mentioned earlier in the thread? That sounds like something I'd be interested in. Thanks much!
