How to open another chapter

Hi, I am the elected Panhellenic Liaison for my chapter.. and one of the things discussed at our meetings was expansion. I'm from a local sorority, and basically, we have talked about opening another chapter. Are there any resources that I can read about on how to go about doing this?

Also, I wanted to know if there was any upcoming conferences for greeks that I can enroll my sorority to participate in?

Do you mean open another chapter of your local somewhere else?

There is a locals forum on here that might be helpful . . .

Good catch, James. I saw "Panhellenic Liason" and thought she wanted her sorority to go NPC.

Yah, that threw me too.

Yeah that's what I meant.. Sorry. We have a local chapter, and we would like to open another chapter. Then we become regional am I correct?

Actually, there are no hard and fast rules about what is regional versus national or international. Whatever you choose to call yourself is pretty much it.

Good luck with your journey--I know there are several threads about this in the archives. You might check the Locals or Up and Coming Nationals threads.

You're right... I found a lot of helpful info in the Local threads. I think its just takes some reading to really understand the the process. Thanks!
