Gnutella

I recently got an CD-RW drive but it required 98 to work and I was running off 95, so I had to upgrade there by erasing my rather large napster collection. When I went back on today for the first time confident that I could stll find anything but spelled wrong I was very much mistaken. I remembered someone talking about gnutella, and went there and downloaded the software. It works well, no where near as user friendly as Napster but at least I can find everything I want. Is anyone else using Gnutella and can explain it a little better to me....and how to find the best one's to download b/c they don't tell you what the other people's connections are so sometimes you are waiting 4ever to get a song.

ditch gnutella - get imesh (from www.zdnet.com)

You can search audio-only, and you dl from multiple users at the same time (composite file) so speed is always better, plus it'll run in the background.

gnutella sucks

I've been using a program called Gnotella for awhile now. (NOT THE SAME THING AS GNUTELLA). Gnutella didn't work for me at all, and basically just drove me to forgo the whole downloading thing. I stumbled upon Gnotella a few weeks ago, and it works better for me than Napster does. It's a lot faster, and you can set how many users you share with at once. The thing I like best is that you can determine how many people can download from you at once and how long you will support their downloads. Happy downloading! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I took KSig's advice and dl-ed iMesh yesterday. I like the fact that you know who you're dl-ing from and how fast.

The only thing I don't like about it is the ads. There's too much of them. Still, iMesh reminds me of Napster, only better.

I tried to install imesh, but I guess our schools server has it blocked out.
