Recruitment Coun. Reveals
Hey girls. I'm a rho gam this year and me and the other rho gams are trying to figure out a fun way to do the revealings when the pnms get their bids. In the past we've just worn a bunch of shirts and taken them off one by one with the last shirt having our respective letters on it. We're trying to think of a way to spice it up. Any ideas?

I have a cute idea, let me see if I can explain it right...this will only work if the new members have gotten their bid day shirts so everyone can see what they are...
If each sorority gets 2 Rho Gams, pick (randomly) 2 new members from each group and those new members have to go find and stand next to a Rho Gam that they think is a part of their new sorority. Then, go down the line. The Rho Gam either indicates that the new member guessed right, and they ARE a part of their new sorority, OR the Rho Gam goes and grabs a new member from one of the Rho Gams that IS a part of their new sorority, and the one that guessed wrong goes and stands next to the girl that had her new member "stolen". So, let's say the XYZ new member guesses and stands next to the ABC Rho Gam. The ABC then goes and "steals" an ABC new member from the DEF Rho Gam. The XYZ new member now goes and stands next to the DEF Rho Gam. I don't know if that's clear or not. If not, oh well, I tried.:p;) |
I saw a cute idea from Chico State (i believe).
All the Rho Gammas were wearing the panhellenic shirt, and standing in a straight line. Then they all start to sing cheers from each sorority. After they get through each cheer once, they start over again. But on the 2nd time around, while they are saying/singing the cheer, the Rho Gammas from that particular sorority, take off their panhellenic shirt to reveal their sorority's bid day shirt. So let's say there are 4 sororities (XYZ, AB, DE, FGH)= 8 Rho Gammas ( 2 per sorority) all the Rho Gammas do the XYZ cheer, Then they ALL do the AB cheer, followed by the DE, then followed by the FGH cheer. That's round 1 Round 2: ALL the Rho Gammas do the XYZ cheer---before it's over all the XYZ Rho Gammas reveal their affiliation Then it is repeated from AB, DE and FGH...all the while EVERY Rho Gamma (even the revealed ones) still say the other sororities cheers. Its on YouTube, if your confused by my explanation. |
The year I was a Rho Chi (yes thats what we called it back then) we handed out the bids, made all the girls SIT on them and we all sang Row Row Row Your Boat -- Random, but hilarious in tourturing the pnms.
For the reveal, we all stood in a line with our Rho Chi Shirts over our letter shirts and sang cheers for each sorority. When we got to the end of the cheer the Rho Chis from that org would take their Rho Chi Shirts off and we would keep going until everyone was done. And then after the reveal, we let the pnms -- who were STILL sitting on their bids open them. |

KD had an Oscar Meyer cheer where I went to school, too. I didn't like it very much :p
My sorority has a first name, it's K-a-p-p-a My sorority has a second name it's D-e-l-t-a I love to be a Kappa D and if you pledge us you will see... That Kappa Delta has the key to friendships spelled by AOT (hand motion for AOT here) |
Let me see if I can remember the song. (Any AXiDs feel free to correct me!)
My sorority has a first name, it is A-L-P-H-A. My sorority has a last name, it is D-E-L-T-A. The middle name is hard you see, it is spelled X-I and pronounced as Zee. A-L-P-H-A-X-I-D-E-L-T-A , good-bye |

I still get the TriSigma Song in my head.... T-R-I T-R-I S-I-G-M-A-S Oh Yes Tri Sigma is the best |
I'm not sure if this is ok bc it means the rho gammas wear other chapter's letters, but we have our rho gammas wear layers of letters from all the chapters with theirs on the bottom and take them off one at a time.

It's not like they're actually running around claiming to be members...and the other letters are probably on loan from the other sororities anyway. |
OK in the spirit of Panhellnicness?
Coining new words tonight, AlphaFrog?!? I like it!;) |
