Turtling ceremony HELP NEEDED!
 

Hey y'all,
As some of you may have been following on another thread, I'm a new advisor to the ADD chapter at George Mason University. They've never heard of Turtling, and I know I was inititated as a turtle when I went to Sectionals, but I can't remember anything about the ceremony or how it relates to A Phi O. I just remember being THRILLED to have been asked to be one.:D

I would love to introduce this to the chapter here....can someone PLEASE PM me with the ceremony and the significance of it to A Phi O so I can pass this on to the brothers of ADD???

Apparently, the BOD has a "no turtling" policy, though it's not written anywhere. I've been hearing that from some brothers. Something about it being misconstrued as hazing.

I was able to contact a chapter brother of mine and she refreshed my memory about the ceremony and what took place. (She's younger and has a much better memory than I do!!) So, my memories have been refreshed and I now remember that ybysaia a turtle!! :D

Turtling is illegal in APO, and you can be kicked out of the organization if you are caught doing it. It was a HUGE problem in my chapter before I came around. It's something you should keep quiet...

Got it. As I said in my last post, I was told it was a no-no.
It's not "illegal", just not accepted.
