How we think--men/women?

Study/work break time.
When I turned cable TV, it was on a country music station from last night.
The song that was playing: "Things that would never cross a man's mind."
It isn't, to me, a man bashing song. With 2 brothers and a few past boyfriends having said things that to me were just plain curious, it just reminds me how men/women can be on different frequencies.

From the song:

wouldn't cross a man's mind to say ....he's a little bloated
...or this color scheme is a crime
--or her legs are too long, her skirt is
too short.

there were several others, but I scribbled over my COMM notes, and can't read them.

Any other thoughts on how men/women view things?

Quote:

need to go shopping
These shoes are all wrong
Just look in my closet
Not a thing to put on
I wonder how these jeans make me look from behind
Things that never cross a man's mind

Lets turn off the tv
Now can't we just talk
Lets lay here and cuddle
Til we both drift off
If we don't make love
That'll be just fine
Things that never cross a man's mind

That joke is too dirty
This steak is too thick
Ain't no way in the world I'll ever finish it
That car is too fast
This beer is too cold
And watchin all this football is sure getting old
Wish I was workin this weekend
Not on the lake reelin my line
Things that never cross a man's mind

Here lips are too red
Her skirt is too tight
Her legs are too long
And her heels are too high
Boy, she looks like the marryin kind
Things that never cross a man's mind

That joke is too dirty
This steak is too thick
Ain't no way in the world I'll ever finish it
That car is too fast
This beer is too cold
And watchin all this football is sure getting old
Wish I was workin this weekend
Not on the lake reelin my line
Things that never cross a man's mind

I feel a little bloated
I think I'm fixin to starve
That movie was good except for the violent parts
Brad Pitt is sexy
Why did he change his hair
I knew him and Jenny never had a prayer
These curtains clash with the carpet
The color scheme is a crime
Things that never cross a man's mind
Things that never cross a man's mind

When I was a teacher, a male teammate told me that one girl's skirt was too short and to please tell her something about it. So yes, sometimes males do think that a woman's skirt is too short.

I'll put the things in that song that I am pretty sure do cross men's minds:

That joke is too dirty- especially if it hits a hot spot
This steak is too thick- could always choke on it
Ain't no way in the world I'll ever finish it
That car is too fast- cops anyone?
And watchin all this football is sure getting old- I know men not into football.
Wish I was workin this weekend- many women don't like it either. I don't mind, but that's because there are some perks to it.

Her skirt is too tight- if you are a male teacher
And her heels are too high- if you are the boss and high heels are a safety hazard, then yes

That movie was good except for the violent parts- there is such thing as overdoing it, and it could remind him of something bad that happened in the past
Brad Pitt is sexy- and guys want to be him so that they can get the girls
These curtains clash with the carpet- a girl-crazy guy I dated did mention "picking curtains", when the truth is it (and marriage) had not even crossed my mind at this time

Thanks to super moderator, re: lyrics.
I need to do a better search--next time.
At the time, the power was out in the area, thanks to a rain/thunderstorm that turned just plain hot weather into a sweatbox, the fix-it man from the apt complex was here, supposedly trying to find the source of a bathroom leak but he left and has yet to return. I know, excuses, excuses. At least the power is now back on, and it's football time.

Ahhh . . . The beginnings of a penthouse letter . . ;)

I'm pretty sure you completely missed the point on all of those lyrics.

No problem. But to repeat.

SERIOUSLY?

My drapes kind of clash with my carpet, but I'm OK with it.

Heck, lots of people don't even HAVE carpet anymore so it's a moot point.

AlwaysSAI 08-31-2007 04:39 PM

I wanna hear this song, seriously. Who sings it?

OneTimeSBX 08-31-2007 04:45 PM

absolutely not a country music listener but these lyrics are catchy!

and uh, ahem...are we talking drapes and carpet: the house version, or drapes and carpet: only my brazilian waxer knows for sure! lol
