Washington U (St. Louis) De-recognizes Sigma Alpha Epsilon

The student paper reports that Washington (St. Louis) has de-recognized the SAE chapter there. The report says that SAE HQ has not withdrawn the chapter's charter.

Details are in the article:

I suspect that they shouldn't have, but it doesn't seem like these guys are good at following the rules.

It should be a big no-no in every chapter.

First to talk should be Nationals.

Then maybe a chapter advisor or someone like that.

In the VERY last resort, the chapter president or other ranking officer.

SAE Remains Open

SAE's HQ has decided not to revoke their Wash. U chapter's charter and the chapter will remain open but unrecognized.

Hey, drunk bafoon.....shut up.

Evidently nothing was serious enough for our nationals to close the chapter.

Tom, you know better than to use this forum to condemn the organizations to which these [allegedly] rogue chapters belong to. You aren't privy to the same information that the organization is, nor do you have a dog in the fight. Your comments are off base.

Rogue Chapters? I don't think anybody should gossip about any organization unless they are directly affiliated with them, even if you are a drunk or some forum moderator.

Perhaps you need Merriam Webster to help you out with the definition of allegedly?

Commenting on a story isn't the same thing as condemning them.

Selling pot out of the chapter house is beyond serious. If they couldn't keep their noses clean after THAT came out, they really don't have their priorities in order. Obviously the national can do whatever it wants, but I wouldn't want that kind of liability on my hands.
