Tasered dad drops baby

I know there are new regulations in place...but sometimes common sense should be used first!!!

What kind of moron would shoot a taser gun at someone holding an infant?? Come on. Common sense is usually helpful in these types of situations.

If that taser would have hit the infant, that infant would be dead.

W.T.F.????

The story says the hospital staff could not determine that he was indeed the child's father. The mother was still in her hospital gown during this episode.

I think tasering is a bit much, but he was definitely not acting in a lawful manner.

he was not breaking the law

Apparently he was breaking the law as he has been charged with several things. Additionally CPS has custody of the child because of history of domestic abuse and violence.

and im willing to bet that after all this is over, that child will be right back with its parents. you would assume that if CPS needed to take the child, there should have been a restraining order against the dad, which would have allowed Mom to keep the baby and him away from her...

Because the baby was taken by "A"person, the Security Officers had no knowledge of who he was.

The reason that these security devices were put into place is because that many babys have been taken.

They did not know for sure and the man was a threat.

If you have never been there or done it, then, this guy father or not is lucky to be alive. What could have happened to the baby if he was not the father?

i actually witnessed how that system works first hand when i was leaving a hospital here. when i had my daughter in '00, her legs were so tiny that the alarm kept falling off. the last time it did, the nurse absentmindedly stuck it in her pocket. at this hospital, the elevators lock once the person is inside, not before. lets just say we spent almost an hour trapped inside before anyone could figure what had happened...

I don't have a problem with the fact that they stopped him...just that it could have been handled without putting the child in more danger.

Tom Earp 08-17-2007 04:09 PM

Not a problem, but they were and no one eslse was!

Was it the right one, I do not know.

How violent was the man?

i dont care if he was Ted Bundy reincarnated, someone is gonna get in trouble over screwing that child up!

James 08-17-2007 04:45 PM

He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child . . .for dropping the child I suppose :p He wasn't indited for it.

He was charged with threatening the officer though . .. lol.

Which seems a perfectly natural reaction.
