Revlon Run/Walk fighting CANCER
Hello everyone!
(Just to let you know, I have no affiliation with this company. I am just very excited about this and thought you might want to know!) I recently signed up to help fight against women's cancer by joining the Revlon Run/Walk in NYC. The event is May 5 in NYC and May 12 in CA (not sure where). I am walking with the Alpha Chi Omega team. There are LOTS of fraternity and sorority groups that are marching, as well as other independent teams. My male cousin also joined the AXO team with me! If anyone would like to sign up to walk or run, go to www.revlonrunwalk.com. You can sponsor people, or sign up yourself for this fantastic event! There will be over 30,000 people in this 5K! You can run, walk, sponsor or even just volunteer to help out! And the money goes DIRECTLY to fight cancer! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif On a personal note, my grandma died of cancer in November. She was in stage 3 and we only found out she had cancer less than 5 DAYS before she died. So this event is very dear to me (can you tell???!!!) http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif any questions, feel free to post or email me privately! Thanks everyone, you are the best! PS....if anyone would like to sponsor me http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif, you can do it online! just go to http://carol82.chariteam.comor http://cluster.chariteam.com/charite...&p=REVLON&e=NY if the first doesn't work. (no pressure of course!) http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif if you'd like to sponsor my cousin (who WILL be greek when he starts college next year! he has no choice!), his page is: http://runnerx13.chariteam.com [This message has been edited by cash78mere (edited April 29, 2001).] |
Cash78mere,
The walk sounds like a great idea. I'd love to go but I'm not sure about the distance and timing. I live 50 miles north of Richmond and I work 8-5 during the week. My grandmother also died of cancer in 1990. I would love to go but I'm not sure if I can. It sounds like a wonderful event. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Kevin Beta Theta Pi Alum Epsilon Mu George Mason University |
My sister and her sorority participated in it while she was in UCLA http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif. She has a medal from it...and she got a free lipstick also (since Revlon supports it).
I really wish I could participate in it--but I don't think they have this in the Bay Area. However, I always participate in October when they have the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in the Bay Area. I have gone out with my Cross Country Team and have volunteered year after year...it is truly a very REWARDING experience!! Though I'm not on Cross Country anymore..I make a point to get out there to volunteer for other races which help fight diseases. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif To Cash78mere and Kevin, I'm very sorry about the losses you have suffered. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif I know how much it hurts. What a wonderful idea. Do I have to pay by credit card online if I want to support someone? I hate buying stuff online b/c I'm not sure about the security of all ot it.
