I've been editing our Wikipedia page trying to clean it up and add more information. I would appreciate any comments that you have as well as suggestions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambda_Chi

Matt in a brief check of the site, it is very nice and seems easy to navigate.

I like it.

Is this for Un. Fl.?

In ZAX,

Matt, very nice of you to help out. I do have a suggestion. At the end of the paragraph following Founding, the sentence reads, "Lambda Chi Alpha or "Loyal Collegiate Assosciates" as it was know was born."

Add an "n" to know, correct the spelling of Assosciates, and add a couple commas to read:

Lambda Chi Alpha, or "Loyal Collegiate Associates" as it was known, was born.

Thank Jono, I missed that when I was editing.

Tom Wikipedia is a encyclopedia that any one can edit.

I need to rewrite the history sections because they are just copied from lambdachi.org, but I am slowly working on it.

Still asking UF or IHQ site now?

JonoBN41 08-15-2007 06:26 PM

Tom,

As Matt said, Wikipedia is an Internet encyclopedia where anyone, anywhere, can look up just about anything - including "Lambda Chi Alpha".

Google something, and chances are you'll see a Wikipedia entry for it.

Just wondered if it was for a specific reason for it? Sorry to be a bother.

It still is a nice site, well done Matt!

I'm working on the "List of Lambda Chi Alpha Chapters" article. I started on Alpha, Gamma, Epsilon... Alpha-Alpha, Alpha-Gamma... Now I'm on Lambda-Sigma. I can't seem to find Franciscan in 50th Ed Paed to verify dormancy (or how long dormant). Anyone know where this one disappeared to?

And does anyone know the difference btn say "Dormant" and "suspended" or if they're all in the same? Code XI-1 perhaps? It looks like dormant is an umbrella term under which suspended, probation, and the like sit; i just wanted to get some clarification

EM1843 09-03-2007 10:28 PM

I used *dormant for any chapter that I didn't have verifiable info for. For suspended I tried to find an article.

What are you using as your reference source?

Albert109 09-03-2007 11:28 PM

I'm going by the "A Good Energetic Zeta..." to see if all the chapters are on the page. As I see they're there, I verify the chapter's active or not based upon the 50th Ed Paed. Unless the page says the chapter's been dormant since a couple years ago, I remove the dormant mark. Also, I add dormancy details (since whenever).

I'll check the C&SC but the usual form today is to suspend operations. I suspect that declaring a Zeta 'dormant' is an old term that has never been updated.

EM1843 09-04-2007 07:34 AM

I had been using the website, I'm not sure what is more up to date. John, do you know who I'd talk to about the most up to date list of chapters?
I assume they would still keep these types of records...
