Beta Theta Pi Closes Yale Chapter
At its recent national convention, Beta Theta Pi closed its chapter at Yale, according to the Yale Daily News:
http://www.yaledailynews.com/articles/view/21094 Besides the recent guns-in-the-house incident, other problems noted in the article include alcohol (kegs) and financial difficulties. The article says that the group might continue as a "local" at Yale. |
The article mentions the former chapters at Princeton, Dartmouth and Columbia. Is Beta having trouble at the Ivies or what? Does anyone know if the Princeton chapter still operating, as the article mentioned?

However, the site also mentions that a new chapter directory is being developed, so who knows? |
Didn't Beta recently recolonize at Columbia? I think their Princeton chapter closed a year or two ago...maybe within the last 5 years...someone on The Real World (Chicago) was a member there. Time seems to fly by the older you get.

Beta at Columbia has never closed, to my knowledge. When I was there (2003-2005), they were just completing a gut remodel of their townhouse. Last year, they celebrated their 125th Anniversary.
