Workout mix for my ipod

Ok guys, I need your help.

I've had this ipod since last Christmas, and mainly only used it to listen to class lectures while I jog (I'm a nerd, so what?!), but now I'd like to expand my repertiore and try say... music for once. So I go on iTunes and draw a blank! There's so many options - I can't decide what I want. So...

What are your top 5 songs to workout to?

LOL. The iPod playlist I use when working out is actually called "OPERATION FATASS"! ;)

It's hard to choose just 5, but here are some of my favorites:

Love Today - Mika (Grace Kelly is also a favorite)
Walk This Way - Aerosmith & Run DMC
I'll Fly With You - Gigi D'Agostino
The Warrior - Scandal featuring Patty Smyth
Only the Good Die Young - Billy Joel

I generally just go with the entire run of Metallica's Black Album. Hop on a stationary bike and hammer down.

I'm such a dork, I know, but I get revved every time "Gonna Fly Now" (the theme song from Rocky) starts playing through the headphones. I get at least 10 extra reps of whatever I'm doing when it plays.:p I'm also in love with some of the music from Hairspray at the moment, especially "You Can't Stop the Beat." It's very catchy and keeps me at a pretty fast pace on the treadmill. Other than those two, it's pretty much booty-poppin' music for me.

how can you have a workout playlist without Kanye's Workout Plan :p

My treadmil / elliptical mix includes anything Beyonce... crazy in love, get me bodied, deja vu, lose my breath (o.k. that's destiny's child but same difference)
and the rest would be cheesy 80s songs. upbeat and pop - stuff that keeps me going.

Agreeing with Blutang...Beyonce gets me going:cool:. Crazy in Love & Deja Vu are really good. I also run to Evanescence ' Bring Me To Life ', OutKast's ' B.O.B.', and T.I.'s 'Bring 'Em Out'

I've got a step aerobics instrutor that mixes his own music..plenty of remixed R&B and House music.

Some of my favorite songs:
Remix of New Edition's Hot Tonight
Drop down and Get Your Eagle On
MJ's Song...Mamase, Mamasa, Mamacusa
Shake What Yo' Mama Gave Ya
and of course Miss B...Check Up On It

My most recent work-out mix had Hydraulics (Scar/Cap'n D Comin..whatever the name of it is) and Doo-doo Brown.

LOL. You are not alone.

That song is "Scarred" and is on my mix as well.

I also have some Pitbull and quite a bit of reggae/dancehall--"Dutty Wine" really amps me up!

I've got house music on my iPod-Trevor Lamont & Matt Bandy-Abtruse Dimensions. Its good to listen to & while power walking with my dogs because it ends right as I'm getting home.

oh my heavens-everyone needs to have sir mix-a-lot's "baby got back" in their exercise mix!

Soliloquy 08-16-2007 04:50 PM

Justin Timerblake "My Love"
Hilary Duff "Happy"
Ciara "Two Step"
Rhianna "Umberella"
No Doubt "Just A Girl"

Strange mix, I know. I love when these 5 songs pop up on my ipod while I'm running the trails though. I tend to dance while walking or running, and these songs are perfect for it. Well, except for that No Doubt song. But that song just gets me pumped and I tend to sing it really loudly during my workout.

Singing+running+a few dance moves = a very tired Soliloquy!

My Top 5:

"Love Me or Hate Me" - Lady Sovereign
"Get Me Bodied" (the long version) - Beyonce
"Do Somethin'" - Britney Spears
"What You Waiting For" Gwen Stefani
"Don't Cha" - Pussycat Dolls
