Fifth Point Properties

Anyone dealt with them? What are they like?

SNUIGC 08-13-2007 01:30 PM

Not sure...we haven't had any dealing with them yet...from what a couple of guys at College of Chapters said, it was a mix... some said they got messed over by them... others love em, I dunno... was hoping for some more input from others on here. (gotta do something when we get a house in the hopefully near future)

The houses I know that they care for:

Michigan State
Utah State
Stetson University
University of Illinois

There may be more.

Well, I dont' know too much about them at all, but I wish they were taking care of our house instead of University Housing. It just adds this level of beaurocracy. I can't even move in til the friday before classes!!! I may sound like a girl, but I just take longer than that to get myself organized and "ready to learn". Plus I have to sleep on an air mattress in a brother's spare bedroom til they let me in.

banditone 08-15-2007 08:12 PM

Now that is weak. Are they doing it "just because". Or are they doing it due to the house not being totally completed yet.?

ARSigmaNu 08-16-2007 02:19 PM

Well, by contract I was supposed to move in today (thursday) but only half the guys move in today. The rest tomorrow morning. The house is almost totally done, I think that the door system is not totally up and running (we're getting proximity cards! no card sliding, yeah!), and I'm sure there is some sort of little somethings or other that is not done yet, but I'll see tomorrow. We'll see how the housing thing goes, basically it just feels like a dorm as far as the language and all the paperwork, and we even have an RA, but I think it will be ok.

that's totally ridiculous. Stanford University does it that way too but the RA for the Sigma Nu house is a.....well Sigma Nu.

Is your RA like a house-dad? Former member, something like that?

Also, I assume the house is fully furnished? Do you guys have a chapter room? PICTURES PICTURES!!

I'm the commander at Utah State. We've dealt with fifth point for a few years now......they are really slow at getting things done, but our house core was fed up with the ways things were going here so we sold our house for a very small fraction of what it was worth. Really most our complaints about them now are necessarily directed at them but the housing manager they have locally to look after our chapter.....Radderman, fifth point ceo, has been relatively understanding about out situation, but has also made it very clear that it is a business, and that they need to make money.

There are currently laws against fraternity and sorority housing in Norfolk, and as such, Sigma Nu can't have a house here at Old Dominion University... Who do I talk to at 5th Point in order to get a lawyer down here to bust some heads and get a house for my chapter?
