"Omega Psi Phi establishes Memorial Fund for Newark Youth"

"Many of you may have heard about the tragic execution shooting of
four youth here in the tri-state area, specifically Newark, NJ. The
incident received major national coverage because the four black
youth were "good kids" with "no criminal records" who were in the
wrong place at the wrong time and because of the brutality of the
executions. The constant distinction of "good kids" with "no
criminal records" was a bit telling to me because it appeared that the
lives of "bad kids" with "criminal records" might be of less value
and it appeared to be such an anomaly that "good kids" with "no
criminal record" who are Black actually exist. Go figure?

Two of the students were attending Delaware State University and one
was enrolled to start DSU in September. The school has established a
scholarship in their name, and Omega Psi Phi, Psi Epsilon Chapter, has
established a Memorial Fund."
