I think there is some truth in this. My family has quite strong opinions on what kind of people I should associate with, especially when I was little...my choices of friends does NOT reflect their preferences, and never had. :p

Hm... Well I'm not sure if I'm always friends with people that my parents want me to be friends with, but I hang out with people that are like me, and i'm super close with my mom and dad and they usually like who I hang out with... We are all open minded, educated and kind of hippie-ish :p
