All About Eve - The Chick Who Faked Her Pregnancy

Has anyone heard about this yet? I think it's shaping up to be one of the biggest REAL urban legends ever!

It's all true!

Well give us more info than that, please! A link? A story?

Outside of their links, do you have any independent ones?

Good grief. And yesterday I read a story about a navy officer's wife down in south Georgia who faked being pregnant with quadruplets. She's been charged with theft for all the things she took and didn't return and her husband wasn't charged because police determined that he really believed she was pregnant with 4.

Why do some women do this? They must know they'll be found out.

It's quite crazy.... I wonder if it's a form of Munchausen syndrome?

Jon I don't think Reuters picked this story up yet. But it's hilarious. I especially like the brothers with their pregnant belly pics. A Que's about to have a baybee! Or half a nerf ball.

in this girl's case? nah...

There was a girl at my HS that faked being pregnant by stuffing her shirt. Some guys on the drill team said she was faking. One day she was walking down the hall and one of the guys pulled up her shirt and padding fell out of her shirt. She transfered to another school that day. She was really crazy and her mom had the nerve to yell at students as they passed in the hall saying we (student body) probably made her daughter feel the need to be pregnant!:eek::eek: I was like WTF?!?!?!

I totally think this is crazy!

I'd rather that they feel the need to be pregnant than feel the need to shoot up the school but srsly, wtf?

I run a multiple births site and receive tons of fake info. People have doctored ultrasounds, birth certificates and sent me pics of other people's children claiming them as their own. I've come across the "dead baby" story so many times.

Most of the fakers are bored teenagers, or people who just want to troll in a weird way and get some attention. But some are honest-to-God nutcases, like the one woman pretended to have quads and befriended a lot of other multiple parents and women really expecting quads and she'd visit them in the hospital - but no one ever saw her kids. She even contacted a real estate agent and went house hunting for her non-existent family.

This kind of thing is so sad to me--especially when it turns into those cases like you see on Oprah where women contact and promise families babies over adoption sites (one reason you should NEVER try to adopt online!! Buying books online? Great...trying to pick out a baby online? Not s'much) but were never really pregnant to begin with and then they claim that they had a miscarriage. It's just...really, really sick.

Or they do worse than claim to have miscarriages...

They kidnap a newborn...or even more horrific...they kidnap a "not yet born" from the mother's body....

Did you see the one in Missouri....recently...they had the pregnant mother tied up in a hotel room, when the police broke in. (one got cold feet and called the cops)

This is so freaky. I can't believe there are really people in the world that do this. We live in a really messed up society!!!

ljkelly 08-04-2007 08:58 PM

My goodness...when I was in college all the girls I knew were trying their darnest NOT to get pregnant!! :D

This is CRAZY!!

It's called pseudocyesis

It can happen but very rare. Modulation of hormones can give a woman the appearance of pregnancy. However, the ultrasound would show differently.
