FBI raids U.S. senator's home

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Agents from the FBI and Internal Revenue Service on Monday searched the home of U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens, an official said.
Investigators arrived at the Republican senator's home in Girdwood shortly before 2:30 p.m. Alaska time, said Dave Heller, FBI assistant special agent.

Just a question of word usage...

If, as the first link says, the officers were serving a warrant and notified the Senators lawyers before it was served, is this really a "raid?"

It seems to me that a raid is unannounced. Am I wrong?

I noticed that the CNN link used the word "raid" in the body of the story and FOX did not.

Neither used it in the headline.

For whatever it's worth.
