Iraq wins the European Soccor Cup

Amazing that Iraqi was made up of Shunnis, Shites, and Kurds and still win!

What a great thing for a Country that cannot get along with each other.

Maybe this will be a turn around for them and able our Troups to get out sooner.

We can only hope!:)

Too bad you can't spell soccer correctly, or realize that it was the Asian Cup, not the European cup.

Rudey 07-29-2007 11:52 PM

Hopefully, we can leave that dump soon and let them decide whether they want to play soccer or blow each other up.

Or both.

Yes, the outcome of a "soccor" match is going to determine what happens in the war. You are absolutely right.

It does show the power of soccer as a uniting force in countries otherwise divided :) No other sport would have done that. (Cricket? I doubt it. American football? No way!)
But then I'm a soccer fan. :D

Didn't you marry someone Hispanic? I'm surprised you don't know the importance of soccer in other cultures. It is actually very influential.

AlphaFrog 07-30-2007 10:11 AM

It might be, but I doubt it's influential enough to "fix" a country that's been broken as long as Iraq. I might even go so far as to say that it's a good first step. But I doubt it's a big enough event to affect when our troops will be withdrawn and the war over.

Drolefille 07-30-2007 10:50 AM

It's a great (internally) uniting moment, but within a week or so good will wears off (unless of course Iraq wins the World Cup or something, that'd probably last longer) and you're right, it's not going to matter one way or the other with regards to American troops.

Well, sorry, but the local news called it the European Cup!

AlphaFrog, that is true, but any step in the right direction is a good step!

Athletics ahve many times helped just as Hitler did the other way!

Oh, I forgot, Nazis got screwed and did not look that good as a Black Man changed all of that!:)

Phyll you should also put her on ignore. She's permanently brain damaged after her abusive Mexican husband beat her (although I can see where he came from).
