I have heard many times that recruitment at University of Washington was crazy. There are so many houses and so many people that you just can't visit every house.
From what I have heard each guy walks up to a table with a application of interest and hands them the form. The people at the table look at the application and then hand you a select few houses you are allowed to rush.
My question for the GC community: Is this true? Is your Greek Life based on the opinion of a few people sitting at a table assigning you to visit certain houses. If so that sucks.....

To my knowledge they do summer events, which vary from a BBQ in another part of a state, or a camping trip, and so on. The various fraternities hold these events in other locations so some of the work is done before potential members show up on campus, and also if someone is from say, Walla Walla, they have exposure to Greek Life since they are not in the Seattle area. If I remember correctly, no bids are given out until later, but things change.
