Check out the recruitment fourm for advice, tipes, etc.

Also try doing a search to see if anyone has gone through recruitment at your school :)

Good luck!

Like Buttonz said, try the recruitment forum and read the two stickied posts at the top of the page. If you have more questions after that, feel free to do a search and make a thread.

Once again, it all depends where your going to school. I think I remember seeing somewhere that there was a school or two in Washington that was competitive but I could be wrong.

Have you been able to pull your GPA up?

Is Rush in Washington/Oregon competitive? If I get recs, its should help out right?

I'm an alumna in the Northwest, feel free to PM me if you like and I will do my best to answer your questions privately.

I have heard many times that recruitment at University of Washington was crazy. There are so many houses and so many people that you just can't visit every house.

From what I have heard each guy walks up to a table with a application of interest and hands them the form. The people at the table look at the application and then hand you a select few houses you are allowed to rush.

My question for the GC community: Is this true? Is your Greek Life based on the opinion of a few people sitting at a table assigning you to visit certain houses. If so that sucks.....

To my knowledge they do summer events, which vary from a BBQ in another part of a state, or a camping trip, and so on. The various fraternities hold these events in other locations so some of the work is done before potential members show up on campus, and also if someone is from say, Walla Walla, they have exposure to Greek Life since they are not in the Seattle area. If I remember correctly, no bids are given out until later, but things change.
