More that 200 people trapped in the STL Arch
Whoops, more THAN 200 people trapped.
http://news.aol.com/story/_a/power-o...00010000000001 What a terrible terrible place to be stuck. The trams are very small, but seating up to around five people. It's worse than a regular elevator. Being up top is fun for a while, but not being packed in with over 100 people for several hours. |
Ug, I would not enjoy being stuck in those trams.
|
Glad it was just a power failure.
I was worried that we might have some "arch enemies." Sorry. |
Those trams were no picnic when they were working--I can't imagine being stuck in one for hours! Or at the top for hours. People getting stuck in the arch is probably one of my worst nightmares come true... now I will probably never go up again.
Although the "arch enemies" comment is pretty funny... |
arch enemies *snicker*
see? when paranoid people say things like "i am not going up there, what if it gets stuck?" people around them think they're crazy. we paranoid people are not crazy, we're always right! WE TOLD YOU SO! |
The one time I went into the arch, I started to have a serious case of claustrophibia in the tram. I was so freaked out about it, that I didn't even enjoy the view at the top, since I knew I had to ride one of those things back down.
I cannot imagine being stuck for hours in one. One more excuse to never go in that thing again. |
Haha @ the "arch enemies".
I haven't been up there since a 7th grade field trip. I don't plan on going back up there in the future. I still go to the Arch grounds, gift shops, and museum though. |
I liked the guy who refused to walk down 1,000 steps.
Maybe he was afraid of running into his archenemy. |

So I'd never go up the arch in the first place. Same for the London Eye, Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building, anything like that. I also have a problem with flying and with mountains. It's pretty bad. |

I'm with you. I can go up higher floors, but I can't even look inside an elevator or think about being in one without getting light headed and feeling sick. It's affected looking for jobs, I've passed on plenty of fun vacations, and other things. I'd love to go on a cruise but I couldn't handle having to take an elevator. |

So, I understand your situations of Hyper ! But suck it up a bit! |
