hi from a legacy

hey ladies.

I just wanted to say hello. My aunt was an ADPi at Albright University. I have heard her tell awesome stories about her time with college and she is the reason I decided to rush when I got to school. Unfortunately there is no ADPi chapter at my university or I would have loved to be a part of your organization. I was able to find another GLO that fit my personality, but I still feel like I owe my time in Alpha Sigma Alpha to you fine ladies.

Hope you are having a wonderful summer.

Thank you so much! :) It's great to have Panhellenic Sisters.... so glad you found your sorority home!

Welcome, beachyalphasig! I'm glad that your aunt's experience with ADPi opened the Panhellenic door! Please feel free to stop by any time.

Just out of curiosity, did you go to Drexel? Your name & Albright makes me wonder.

Drexel is Nu Nu...

Epsilon Kappa is Millersville.:)

One of my best friends from childhood (mother was a Tri Delt, sister was a Phi Mu) was an ASA at Drexel - that's why I asked.

Albright

Hi I'm currently an ADPi at Albright. I was wondering what your Aunt's name is and what year she graduated. I could probably find her on our composites!

Are nieces considered legacies?

ASA considers nieces legacies.

I'll rephrase the question...

Are nieces considered legacies in ADPi?

azureblue 01-17-2008 01:12 PM

On our legacy introduction form, there only lists spots for the granddaughter, daughter or sister of a member. I do not believe that ADPi recognizes nieces as "official" legacies.

Thanks, azureblue!

Being that the OP is a relatively new sister, my guess is that beachyalphasig assumed that other sororities have a legacy policy that is similar to ours.

Welcome beachyalphasig and thanks for stopping by the ADPI forum to say hi and introduce yourself! Also congrats on finding a sorority that fit your personality! My sister just went off to college and even though they didnt have an ADPi chapter she still ended up joining another panhellenic chapter. Its so nice to see how your aunt's positive experience helped you make the decision to go through recruitment. Best of luck!

Probably - every GLO seems to have a different definition of the same word! At some chapters, a niece wouldn't be a technical legacy, but someone you'd extend a courtesy to; in the strong chapters in the South (in particular), there are sometimes more mother/daughter or sister/sister legacies than quota!
