Then PLEASE just post it. Why on earth do people ask if they can post one? Is it just a cry for attention, i.e. please please beg me to post?

I've come to accept that people are posting them. But why ask? Just do it!

I can't think of any other reason to ask. Hell, people start annoying threads all the time (granted, they are promptly informed they are annoying) but at least they don't ask permission to be annoying.
