Need help finding pins

I'm a founding member of GAMMA at my college (Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol) and we are looking to order pins for initiation. We do not have a HQ to order pins through, and we can basically design our own. We want to go with something simple---much like the silver Omega letter pin that Order of Omega gives to new initiates, we want just a gold Gamma letter. Does anyone know where I can find a place to order these?

Have you tried Herff Jones? They have an entire college section where they have items for greek organizations. They will probably be able to help you out.

Sounds like a great thing you've started. Kudos to you and the other founders! :)

I have looked around but it seems that you have to be an organization that they already carry. I can't find where they will special make jewlery for an organization that they don't recognize. I'll keep looking, though. Thanks!!

Humpfff........

This is an organization only for greeks right? So, why doesn't everyone get a Gamma gaurd for their badge?

Just throwing out some thoughts....and ideas.....

Why do these college students need to spend more money on badges and pins they're not going to wear? Just pin them with some ribbons on pins (maybe in school colors) and give them a nice certificate.

That wouldn't be a bad idea...although I would suggest taking the chain off of it and wearing it as a seperate pin, unless none of the groups on campus have an active Gamma chapter.

ETA: This would be a good alternative to a pin.

Or, GreekGear also does custom buttons. Kinda cheesy, but who cares? It's not like your going to wear it very often.

A lot of us already have guards with our own chapter letters, so that might not work. But it's an idea to bring up! Thanks!

This is a leadership organization, much like Rho Lambda or Order of Omega. The fact that you were invited to join (it's invitation only because we want only the best of the best in the Greek community) and will be given a gold pin to represent that is something that is extremely important to our organization. We want our leaders to know that they are so important, not only to our org and to their own home chapter, but to the Greek community as a whole. I don't think ribbons in BG's colors and a certificate really state the importance and the prestige of joining this group, do you?

Also, we've seen the buttons on Gamma's site and we wanted (again) something a little more prestigious like the other Greek leadership organizations on our campus. We kind of looked at it as "what is something that we can wear with our own badges from our home chapters, as well as pins from other leadership orgs, to a pin-attire event?" and we really felt the Gamma buttons on the website just weren't it. But thanks.

But GAMMA isn't an honor society or a prestigious organization-- it's a Greek division of Bacchus, and intended to be a tool used to educate Greeks about substance abuse. If you want to get pins, go for it... but this is not an organization like Order of Omega. Anyone can join GAMMA. The organization's purpose is to be inclusive to spread its message, not exclusive. If they wanted to have pins for initation, I imagine they would make those available...

ETA: I do have an idea, though.... you can order custom-made lapel pins with the GAMMA logo... these will be about the size of a nickel, maybe a little smaller.

Not all Greek organizations allow you to put a guard on it. ;)

Good Luck finding an appropriate piece of recognition.

Now that Herff Jones has absorbed all of their previous competitors, it's extremely difficult to find a company to make new sorority / fraternity jewelry. Fortunately, there is a new company that is entering this market and they are great to work with: www.awardconcepts.net. If you decide to work with them, tell them Ginger from Omega Phi Alpha recommended them.

Good luck!
