I searched and could not find any thread that dicussed this.
So my question is, for the OLDER crowd (30+) what would you wear on a first date. |

dayum..been so long since I been on a first date.... lesse...if we are just meeting for drinks I would imagine me to be conservative (khakis, shirts and shoes) Movies...I may dress down a lil more...jeans.... But how about this tho...do's and don'ts DO: 1. Make sure the clothes are CLEAN...especially underwear.... 1a. do wear underwear 2. make sure that they are freshly ironed...nothing says bad impression more than someone who looks like they lost the battle with the iron 3. make sure your colors match. black and off black do not mix DON'T 1. Show off all the goods....nothing says easy any more than a blouse on a 5'4 woman that lets a 6'4 guy like me see from here to Australia....I may not take u seriously 2. Fellas...DO NOT WEAR A DOO RAG OR A SCARF....if you are not a rap artist...just say no. 3. Wear the tight muscle shirt especially if you don't have the tight shirt body.....how about...just don't wear the tight shirt. 4. Wear bright, loud or provacatively messaged shirts. "I'm with stupid" really means you are the stupid one if you wear that on the first date.... someone can pick up from here.....I got some dating dressing horror stories to tell u all later |
is 30 OLD now? i thought it was the new 20...!

^^^^
only for people who didnt get it right the 1st time. i hate that song/phrase. sorry, end of rant. :) |
Being that it's summer now, I think a girl can never go wrong with a nice, lightweight dress. Wrap dresses are usually good on all figures and always make us look slimmer. I wouldn't go with a plunging neckline or anything, but Ann Taylor Loft, BR, Gap all usually have nice casual dresses.

Jeans, polo (or nice blouse), heels and pearls....
The classics never go out of style at any age. |

but lets face it. 30 is still young... eta: i second the wrap dress suggestion...i wear them year round, and they look good on any shape/size! |
I'm 30. I'm NOT old, dammit.
A nice wrap dress is ok. Like Seid said, it depends on where you're going on said first date. I agree with him on the clean underwear, though. lol.. |

Date night
If we go out on date, I look fantabulous... And 30 is not old. 90 is old... I think I still look good! ;)

Remember when 30 seemed SO old?
Sigh. At least I still look like I am in my 20s. Let's see how long that lasts! These are my suggestions. I am married, but I like to think that I am stil in the loop. Ideas for date outfits - dark jeans (no coin slot), kitten heels, cute/sexy (not slutty) top; a cute dress with flats; or an a-line skirt and twinset. No spaghetti straps, empire waists, teeny miniskirts or belly tops. Bring a sweater if it's at night. Don't do khaki anything; it's too bland. If you wear black, don't do it all over, and add something with a punch of color. NO panty lines, but do cover your bits. No bra straps showing. Make sure your girls are well-supported. Exfoliate lips with a toothbrush after you get out of the shower then put on some vaseline. No lipliner darker than your lipstick. No goopy lipgloss. Natural makeup/tones. Skip the fake eyelashes. Hair down and/or natural. Don't use too much product. No perfume - try lightly scented lotion. No noisy jewelry. Cute earrings (studs or small-to-medium hoops). Nice bracelet or simple necklace. This isn't the time to wear your tiffany jewelry from dad from your HS graduation. No honking right-hand diamond. Be comfy or else you will fiddle with your clothes. Don't buy something new. Iron your clothes. Polish your toes a pretty color, and pale or clear on your fingertips. Try using whitestrips for your teeth, but don't overdo it. I did the 7-day aquafresh trays - $32 and very natural looking. Charge your phone, keep $20 in your pocket for cab fare, and let a friend know where you are going and when you should be home, if you don't know your date well. |
